Rinaldo D'Aquino
1997 - Chairman of the Pro Loco of Caulonia

The tourist association Pro Loco has set itself the ambitious goal of consolidating one of its fundamental institutional principles: to introduce the greatest possible number of people, in the best of ways, to the Caulonian territory. The obstacles in their path were many and diverse but the greatest problem was of an economical nature. The effort required from the beginning enables us today to publish the present Guide which holds two fundamental moments: archaeological and historical news of our Caulonia in a simple and accessible tone, and a divulging instrument for all those people who, crossing the Ionian strip quickly, will want to pause in our territory because they are both fascinated and won over, not only by the curiosity of our historical news but also by those characteristics which Caulonia holds and comprises. From a wonderful coastline, on which fresh, crystal clear waves brake along the “Mare nostrum”, one passes on to the historical centre of the town where the tourist can lose himself in the art and curiosities of the place without overly taxing his attention span. The inland, as a last stop, because of the healthiness and freshness of its green vegetation, also conquers the hearts of its visitors, who are anxious to let themselves go to a moment of serenity and fusion with the uncontaminated nature. Crowning all this, is the spontaneous hospitality and generosity innate to the Caulonians, who hand it out even to the most casual of visitors.
